Snowshoe outing with in Puig de les Moreres

The starting point is the ski resort of Port del Comte (1,730 metres). This itinerary is located in the region of Solsonès, and this snowshoeing could be defined as the perfect one for an initiation in this modality. In this route we will reach two tops, the summits of Querol (2,110-metre high) and the Puig de les Moreres (“Mulberries’ summit”) (2,214-metre high). We will ascend progressively, passing by the Bages refuge and little after we will get to the summit of Querol, from where we will be able to see the top of Puig de les Moreres, where we will get soon after. Hopefully, during our ascent we will have the opportunity to appreciate some tracks in the snow, learning a little from the flora and fauna of our surroundings. Afterwards, we will go to the refuge, where we will be expected to have dinner and overnight (optional).

Itinerary: Ski station- refuge Bages – summit of Querol – Puig de les Moreres – car park of the ski station – refuge.

Duration: The whole route lasts 2 days.

​

Slope: 484 m. The ascent to Puig of les Moreres has an accumulated slope of 484 metres, at all times we will progressively progress, there isn’t any steep ascent, so it can be considered an ideal trip for beginners.

 

Difficulty: Initiation.

Equipment required: Sunglasses (minimum protection factor: 3 o 4), waterproof hiking boots, two or three pairs of thick socks, thermal pants and T-shirt (first layer), warm pants (second layer), waterproof jacket and pants (third layer), waterproof gloves, another pair of warm gloves and spare ones. Headlamp, a change of clothes and a mountain backpack of about 30 litres.  A sleeping bag is also required.

 Food and drink that need to be brought): Water (at least a canteen of 1 litre) and, to eat, food-bars, one or two sandwiches minimum and some piece of fruit.
